HUD Section 8 Program

 

General Requirements: To apply, individuals must be over the age of 62 or handicapped/disabled.

Income Limits: The following income limits apply to Applicants;

Rent at the Richford is based on your annual income. All income from wages, Social Security, Cash Assistance, Assets etc. for each individual over the age of 18, in your household will be used to calculate your rent. Allowable medical expenses as well as child and/or handicap allowances will be deducted from this amount. Your rent will then be approximately 30% of that amount.

Utility Allowance: All Residents of the building are given a $25.00 utility allowance to pay for your electric. This amount is deducted from your monthly rent amount. 

All applicants are screened on the basis of credit, criminal record and rental history.

To apply for an apartment you do not need to have a Section 8 Voucher from the Housing Authority. We do all of the paperwork in house.  If you have any questions regarding these guidelines, please feel free to contact our office.
